When our Great Dane, Echo, was diagnosed with lymphoma, we found ourselves facing something we never imagined we would have to endure.
Cancer changed our lives overnight.
Suddenly, our days were filled with appointments, difficult decisions, chemotherapy, uncertainty, and the overwhelming emotions of watching our deeply loved boy fight for his life.
Through that entire journey, Czar’s Promise was there for us. They supported us tremendously throughout Echo’s diagnosis and chemotherapy, not only by helping us financially and educationally, but also by reminding us that we were not alone. And when we ultimately had to say goodbye to Echo, they continued to be a source of comfort and support as we learned how to process the loss of our beautiful boy.
Echo was so much more than a dog. He was family, and the impact he left on our lives will never fade.
That’s why we’re starting a team in his honor.
We want to turn some of our heartbreak into something meaningful. Through walking and fundraising, we hope to help other families receive the same support we were so grateful for, and to help advance research so that one day, fewer families have to hear the words, “your loved one has cancer.”
This event supports children fighting cancer at UW Health – American Family Children’s Hospital, companion animals receiving cancer care and more. It helps fund research through UW School of Veterinary Medicine while also providing emotional, educational, and financial support to families facing one of the hardest experiences imaginable.
We’ll be walking for Echo.
For the pets still fighting.
For the families standing beside them.
For the children fighting cancer.
And for the hope that someday, cancer will no longer be the diagnosis that changes everything.
We would love for you to join Team Echo—whether by walking alongside us, donating, sharing our fundraiser, or simply helping us honor a very special boy.
Every step is for Echo. Every dollar helps another family. 🤍
Forever our boy. Forever our reason. 🐾
