Bella was born on March 14, 2017, and came into my life when she was just six weeks old. From the moment I brought her home, she's been by my side through so many chapters of life. She's grown up with me, been there through life's biggest milestones, and has always been so much more than just a dog. She's family.
In February 2026, our world was turned upside down when Bella was diagnosed with lymphoma. Hearing that our sweet girl had cancer was heartbreaking. After nearly nine years together, I couldn't imagine a life without her. We knew we were going to do everything we could to give her a fighting chance.
On February 25th, Bella began chemotherapy. Little did we know that while she was beginning one of the biggest battles of her life, our family was about to experience one of its greatest blessings.
On March 13th, just one day before Bella's ninth birthday, we welcomed her human baby brother, Colter, into the world. In the middle of her cancer journey, Bella took on a brand-new role as a big sister. Watching my first baby welcome my newest baby was a moment I'll cherish forever. All I wanted was for Bella to have the chance to grow up alongside him and for Colter to experience the same love she's given me all these years.
Through chemotherapy, countless appointments, and all the uncertainty, Bella continued to fight. With the incredible support of Czar's Promise, we were able to give our girl the treatment she needed.
In July 2026, we received the news we had been hoping and praying for: Bella was cancer-free!
Today, we're beyond grateful for every extra day, every tail wag, and every new memory we get to make. What started as a terrifying diagnosis has become a story of strength, hope, and a whole lot of love.
Bella has been with me since I was young, stood by my side as I became a wife and a mother, and now gets to be part of my son's childhood. That's a gift I will never take for granted.
Bella isn't just fighting for herself. She's fighting for more walks, more adventures, more birthdays, and more memories with her baby brother.
