Truesdell Animal Care Hospital is honored to participate in the 2025 Inspiring Hope Walk for the 4th year in a row! We love the hope and resources that Beth Viney (Founder of Czar's Promise) and the entire team at Czar's Promise provides our wondering community. Partnering with research efforts to hit cancer at the source!
The moment I connected with Beth Viney and we shared our stories of our first loved one and their battle with cancer, we were instantly connected. It is something that we hope no one ever has to experience. My experience with cancer was over a decade ago, with my first cat as a young adult, Ibo. He was the sweetest little orange kitty you would ever meet. He loved everyone and even turned a few of my friends into cat lovers! At a young age of 4 years, Ibo deveolped a cough. Fast foward just a week later and I was getting a diagnosis of Lymphoma and a mediastinal mass (meaning a mass in his chest that was inoperable). I was devestated but thankful to the oncologist Dr. Kai Shiu who gave me an answer to my babies ailment. I did not persue chemo (I was a broke college student with minimal resources) and let my baby cross the rainbow bridge 3 months later. It was the hardest decision I ever had to make.
Now, decades later, I retell Ibo's story and am grateful to him for sharing his love and bringing me together with people I wouldn't have known otherwise. In Ibo's 4 short years of life, he touched the lives of more people than I would've thought. My friends who met him and thought cats were just cats, now have their own cats that have changed their lives forever. I am blessed to have been Ibo's mom. This year Truesdell wants to break our fundraising efforts from last year! We would LOVE to raise $1000 for Czar's promise and give HOPE to families that need a little light during a dark time. As a veterinary clinic, being able to give families more options and resources is a true blessing.
