Walking for Gracie
I am walking with my dog Spencer in support of his sister Gracie.
Gracie, a shih tzu, was born with splayed leg syndrome. She was going to be thrown away because of it, but instead, she was given a chance. After lots of rehabilitation, she learned to walk. Gracie is a very special part of our family and the reason we ended up with more shih tzus in our lives.
More recently, Gracie had to fight some significant health battles. She has fought through cancer (MCT), chemo, multiple blood transfusions, and a lot of uncertainty while being treated by the wonderful team at UW Veterinary. She overcame it all and is still a happy girl at 10 years old.
Today, she continues to deal with some other health challenges, but that doesn't stop her from enforcing her no shenanigans rule. (Anyone who knows Gracie knows she doesn't like any shenanigans)
In honor of Gracie and those still fighting cancer. Research can give families more options, more hope, and hopefully more time together. Every contribution helps support the fight.
