We at Badger Veterinary Hospital are raising money for the Czar's Promise 2024 Inspiring Walk in memory of Dr. Steve Servantez and Dr. Galen Heyne, whom we lost earlier this year. Both Dr. Steve and Dr. Galen were known for donating their time and skills to help animals in need through volunteering and working closely with local rescues and humane societies.
"Czar’s Promise is founded on the premise of giving back. Helping our canine and human companions who we love and cherish each day, whose lives have been impacted by a cancer diagnosis.
And to bring our efforts home. To our very own community, so we may all realize the impact and giving nature of our families, friends, co-workers, and community partners. Giving of our hearts, compassion, talents, expertise, professional and financial support.
Our mission, the first in our country with three key areas of impact, is a unique approach to helping companion animals in their cancer journey, while funding companion animal and pediatric cancer research to help find a cure.
- Financial, educational and emotional support for families whose canines and felines have been diagnosed with cancer and receiving treatment
- Grant funding for pediatric cancer research at UW Health Kids – American Family Children’s Hospital, Madison, WI
- Grant funding for companion animal cancer research at University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine, Madison, WI
And it is through our very own community and it’s partnerships, that Czar’s Promise will continue to provide support to those enduring this journey, and to fund groundbreaking and transformational research, so that someday, there will be a cure."
