2019 Czar’s Promise Dog WalkLana Hesch

A promise to Gobi

On August 7, 2014 my life changed forever.  My bubbies, my bear, my G-dog, my squishy, my Gobi was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma.  I was scared, I was beyond terrified, I was devastated, and I was so so angry.  Cancer had officially entered my world...and become my worst enemy.

As you know, Gobi passed away exactly 8 months after his diagnosis on April 7, 2015.  But, the time we spent together during those bonus months brought so many incredibly wonderful and special things...lots of love, hikes, swims, snuggles, fun times, talks (I swear he started rolling his eyes at me when I'd start one of my talks), and promises.  I made a promise to Gobi to always honor his memory, to help those that were given a diagnosis of cancer, and to do everything in my power to fight this disease so nobody else had to lose a loved one to it again.

I am so proud and honored to be a part of the Czar's Promise team and continue to fulfill the promise I made to Gobi.  On May 11, 2019 I will be walking in the Czar's Promise inaugural walk in memory of my Gobi.  Please help me reach my goal so that we can make a difference in the fight against cancer and help those whose families have received a diagnosis.  Thank you!
