For the love of a dog
Inspiring hope are such perfect words for describing my amazing Velma.
From the moment I saw her I knew I was hers and she was mine and that was that. And for eleven remarkable years she was my constant companion, shadow, hiking buddy, riding supervisor who through everything remained the bravest, strongest and most resilient little being I could ever imagine. She was a marvelous blessing.
But in February, after nearly 15 years of living her best life, it was time for her to move onto her next adventure. She was able to cross the bridge with grace, comfort and dignity and joined so many amazing pups who went before her.
This year, as I prepare for the first annual Inspiring Hope Czar's Promise Walk on Saturday, May 11th, I will be walking for my one in a million, my promise dog Velma. I hope you will walk with me and help support local families who are facing a cancer diagnosis. To help them be strong. To help them be brave. To help them fight. To help them beat cancer.
"i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart)" now and forever my sweet little Pnut. .
